Business transactions can affect the success of your enterprise, which is why every decision should be a considered one. Whether you are the landlord or the tenant, it’s vital you understand your rights and protect your business by using a professional commercial conveyancer – something one of our most recent clients, Rogue Artists’ Studios CIC, knows only too well.
As experienced solicitors, we’ve worked in every area of commercial conveyancing including business leases and were able to put our knowledge to good use with Rogue Artists’ Studios’ move.
Rogue Artists’ Studios’ Move
Robin Burman, Commercial Law Solicitor at HLF Berry Solicitors, recently helped Manchester-based not for profit CIC Rogue Artists’ Studios with the move to its new premises, including all the legal work related to the lease on the new building.
Founded in 1995 by Colin Sinclair, Rogue Artists’ Studios has expanded greatly during the past two decades and is now run by artists David Gledhill and Martin Nash. The Studio had been based in Crusader Mill in central Manchester since 2000 but the premises but in 2015 the premises was bought for redevelopment, and for this reason combined with the increasing demand for artists’ studio space in Manchester, it was time to find a new home for the artists.
Co-Director of Rogue Artists’ Studios, David Gledhill said: “Throughout the process of our relocation to the former Varna Street School buildings in Openshaw, Robin Burman provided a scrupulous and comprehensive service of advice and support, without which we couldn’t have proceeded. As a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, Rogue Artists’ Studios fully appreciates the time, dedication and effort invested in our future by all our partner organisations, and in particular the invaluable legal services of HLF Berry.”
Robin Burman comments: “Every business has different needs and ambitions, and we always work hard to understand how all companies work in order to truly support and enhance their commercial transaction.
“Once Rogue Artists’ Studios had found the old school, we understood why this property was right for them – home to nearly 100 artists from across the UK and beyond, the company needs the space to continue to thrive and provide an exceptional environment for its artists. Thanks to the high ceilings and impressive size of the building, we knew it was an ideal location for the artists’ studios and made sure everything was legally as it should be in terms of the lease on the new building.
“I’m so pleased Rogue Artists’ Studios found the old school premises and that we were able to assist with the move, ensuring the lease is fair and provides the business with everything it needs now and in the future from a legal viewpoint. It’s especially rewarding when we’re able to help a local business and we’re delighted this fine artists’ studio is still Manchester based.”
One of the biggest studio groups in the north of England, Rogue Artists’ Studios is now happily settled in its new home on Varna Street in Openshaw.
The Importance Of Commercial Conveyancing
As with every lease undertaken, Rogue Artists’ Studios needed the necessary legal protection from its lease together with the freedom to operate as it wishes to. This is exactly what happened – and is what happens with every business we help.
When it comes to conveyancing needs, whether the firm is the landlord or the tenant we help ensure the terms of the business lease or property transaction are accurate, relevant and fair.
